FAQ
1. What materials can the Z12 fiber laser engrave?
The Z12 is designed specifically for metal processing. It can engrave and mark stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, gold, silver, coated metals, anodized aluminum, and certain engineering plastics. It is ideal for industrial marking, customization, and professional workshops.
2. Does the Z12 support rotary engraving on cylindrical objects?
Yes. The Z12 is fully compatible with the MD18 rotary roller attachment, allowing precise engraving on cylindrical and round objects such as rings, pipes, tumblers, tubes, and metal components.
3. Can the laser head be adjusted for different engraving angles?
Yes. The Z12 features a 90° rotatable laser arm, enabling horizontal and side engraving. This design provides greater flexibility when working with large, heavy, or irregularly shaped objects without repositioning the entire machine.
4. Is the Z12 equipped with electric lifting?
Yes. The Z12 supports electric Z-axis lifting, allowing fast and precise height adjustment via control buttons. This ensures accurate focus, improves efficiency, and makes setup easier when switching between objects of different heights.
5. What power options are available for the Z12?
The Z12 is available in 20W, 30W, and 50W configurations.
20W: Ideal for fine marking and light engraving
30W: Balanced choice for deeper engraving and faster speeds
50W: Best for industrial-grade deep engraving and high-volume production
6. Which software is compatible with the Z12?
The Z12 is compatible with EZCAD2 and LightBurn (fiber version). This ensures a smooth workflow, wide file format support, and compatibility with professional engraving environments.
7. Is the Z12 suitable for beginners or only professionals?
The Z12 is designed for both professional users and serious beginners. With electric lifting, precise galvo scanning, stable structure, and intuitive software support, it offers a low learning curve while meeting industrial-level performance requirements.
8. What is the difference between a MOPA fiber laser and a standard fiber laser?
Both MOPA and standard fiber lasers are excellent for engraving and marking metals, but a MOPA fiber laser offers significantly greater control over pulse duration and frequency, allowing for more advanced applications.
Compared with a standard fiber laser, a MOPA laser can:
Create vibrant color markings on stainless steel and titanium
Produce deep engraving and 3D relief effects with better surface quality
Generate high-contrast black markings on stainless steel
Mark sensitive materials with reduced heat damage
Deliver finer details and smoother engraving results
Process certain plastics and anodized aluminum more effectively
A standard fiber laser is ideal for basic metal marking, serial numbers, logos, QR codes, and industrial engraving. A MOPA fiber laser is the preferred choice for users who need color engraving, premium customization, deep relief engraving, jewelry work, personalized gifts, and high-end metal processing.
If your primary goal is standard metal marking, a regular fiber laser is often sufficient. If you want the highest engraving quality and maximum material versatility, a MOPA fiber laser is the better investment.

The Z12-50W Relief model is incredible! I engraved a Koi fish on solid brass, and the 3D depth is stunning. It smoothly carved away layers, creating tactile textures and unbelievable scale details.
I've been testing the Carverall Z12-60W MOPA on stainless steel dog tags, and the color generation is absolutely phenomenal! I engraved a colored Dragon Ball Goku design, and the MOPA technology brought out vivid reds and blues directly on the metal without needing any paint or chemicals. The lines are crisp, and the machine's galvo head is incredibly fast and precise. Highly recommended for custom anime jewelry and merch!
I used the Z12-60W MOPA to engrave a tiger and its cub in a jungle setting on a stainless steel card, and the results are gorgeous. By adjusting the frequency and pulse width, I was able to coax beautiful golden and greenish hues out of the steel, giving the tigers a lifelike warmth and dimension. If you want to offer high-end, color-marked metal business cards or art pieces, you need this MOPA laser!
The Z12-50W exceeded my expectations for ceramics! I carved a 3D unicorn into a flat ceramic piece. The deep relief and clean edges didn't crack the material, giving the creature a real sense of motion.
